The Story of Macallan
 Macallan was founded in 1824 by Alexander Reid – a farmer with a passion for distilling. The distillery is located on the Easter Elchies Estate, surrounded by rolling green hills and the River Spey. But it’s not just the setting that makes Macallan special. It’s their uncompromising approach to quality:

• Use of small copper pot stills
• Focus on sherry-seasoned casks from Jerez
• And a dedication to wood maturation that has set industry standards

In 2018, Macallan opened a new distillery building – a stunning architectural achievement that looks like something out of a Bond film. And yes, Macallan has actually appeared in several of them.
